Transport law: Bach Langheid gains Allianz’s in-house counsel

The insurance law firm BLD Bach Langheid Dallmayr has recruited a new of counsel for its Munich office. Erwin Abele (57) left Allianz on May 1st, where he had been the leading in-house counsel for the area of logistics products.

Abele had been working for about 20 years for Allianz. With the insurer he was responsible for the “Transport company, management enterprises” department. At Bach Langheid he reenforces the transport law team, which now numbers at four professionals, among whom is Jochen Boettge, another partner.

It is not for the first time, that Bach Langheid recruits a lawyer from the insurance group. In 2004, the former Allianz syndic Bernd Honsel came as of counsel. Two years previously, liability expert Dr. Gerhard Küppersbusch changed sides.

Allianz is the law firm’s client. Bach Langheid represents the corporate division Global Corporate & Specialty within the Arcandor proceedings.
