Special / Financial Lines

Our Special / Financial Lines team is in charge of all kinds of special insurances, with which particular financial risks are insured. We are in charge of liability cases and/or cases concerning insurance coverage that derive from special insurance products as for example:

• D&O (Directors & Officers insurance)
• E&O (Errors & Omission insurance)
• EPL (Employment Practice Liability insurance)
• IPO (Initial Public Offering, prospect liability insurance)
• W&I (Warranties & Indemnities insurance)
• Crime insurance
• Film insurance (incl. completion- and Revenue-Bonds)
• Terror

We advise in cases of damage of all sizes and in every sector (for example finance, energy and service area) and have done so successfully in the most important liability cases of the past years.

We assist insurers in every stage of a case. Our longtime experience and our profound market knowledge enables us to provide legal advice for insurers from the beginning of the claims handling cycle, which is by now a usual approach. Insurers also regularly instruct us to assume direct defence of insured directors or officers.

Not least because of the said expertise, the German “JUVE Handbuch Wirtschaftskanzleien” ranks lawyers out of our team in the area of D&O insurance and the corresponding conduct of a case among the leading names in this area.

In all areas of special insurances (especially D&O, E&O and W&I), product design is another focus of our Special Lines team. We assist insurers both in designing new and in revising and adapting of existing products (for example after legislative amendments etc.).
