Casper Rooijakkers is a lawyer and partner at our office in The Hague, where he specialises in Financial Law. For more than 12 years, he has been advising and litigating in the field of (international) financial regulation and corporate law issues. He regularly supports financial undertakings, managing directors and investors in complex disputes with financial supervisory authorities. He advises insurers, payment institutions, credit providers, fintechs and other financial companies on issues relating to market access and licensing or permit requirements, the passporting of licences within the EU, the establishment of controlled and ethical corporate governance, and compliance with consumer protection regulations, money laundering laws and international sanctions. He also represents financial institutions in civil proceedings, for example in disputes concerning compliance with due diligence obligations or failed cooperation between (financial) undertakings.
