Dr. Simone Claußen, LL.M. (Southampton)

Dr Simone Claußen, LLM (Southampton), is a lawyer in the Marine department at the Hamburg office. She primarily focuses on shipping and marine insurance law, as well as transport and traffic liability insurance and general liability law. In particular, she specialises in defending and enforcing claims as well as recourse claims in court and arbitration proceedings. Furthermore, she advises clients – in particular shipowners, liability insurers and P&I clubs, as well as logistics and transhipment companies – on issues relating to shipping, transport and freight forwarding law. Dr. Claußen works on an interdisciplinary basis with experts, the responsible employees in the company, or those involved on board the ship in order to fully understand the often technical or nautical issues at an early stage for the successful and efficient management of the mandate.
